Ambassador Margaret Ann Uyehara Presents Certificates to Montenegrin Maritime Border Police (2015/2/20)

On Friday, February 20 the U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro Margaret Ann Uyehara visited Bar to present certificates to 18 members of the Montenegrin Maritime Border Police who took part in the Boarding Officer Course organized by the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).

The training is part of the Embassy’s Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) Program.  In the last several years, the EXBS program has provided over $4 million in assistance with training and equipment to support Montenegro’s efforts to strengthen border security, export controls and non-proliferation efforts.  Speaking at the ceremony Ambassador Uyehara said that the United States greatly appreciates the cooperation with Montenegrin Border Police and will continue to support the Border Police through additional training events and equipment donations.

While in Bar, Ambassador Uyehara also met with Mayor Zoran Srzentic.
