On November 9, 2023, Ambassador Judy Rising Reinke attended a Veteran’s Day ceremony at Gradsko Groblje in Niksic, to honor six U.S.-Montenegrin veterans of World War I buried there. During the ceremony, Ambassador Reinke thanked the veterans’ families who were present and alongside them and Chief of Defense of Montenegro Brigadier General Zoran Lazarevic, laid wreaths at the graves.
“Thank you all for allowing us to pay homage to your ancestors who fought so bravely for freedom and liberty over a century ago. Their sacrifice is the greatest example of selfless service,” Ambassador Reinke said.
