Ambassador Reinke celebrated the 10th anniversary of the American Corner on April 24 in Pljevlja with Mayor Djacic and local partners. The Ambassador thanked the community for its long-standing support of the American Corner and encouraged the continued use of the Corner’s resources.
American Corner Pljevlja, one of three in Montenegro, opened its doors in 2009 under the auspices of a partnership between the U.S. Embassy and the Municipality of Pljevlja.

Over the course of 10 years, American Corner Pljevlja has held more than 2,000 programs and welcomed more than 42,000 unique visitors. The American Corner alsoa has offered English lessons, cultural programs, internet access, and a place for youth to interact with each other and the wider world. The Corner has hosted American speakers ranging from diplomats to seasoned economic experts to energetic Fulbrighters.
In addition to a variety of capacity-building programs on topics like entrepreneurship and leadership, American Corner Pljevlja has been offering a range of STEM programs: graphic design workshops, 3D modelling workshops, and IT programs for girls. The Corner is equipped with the latest technology, including a 3D printer, a virtual reality headset, and many maker-space gadgets.
After a recent makeover, the Corner is shining brighter and attracting more visitors. Thank you to the Municipality of Pljevlja for 10 years of partnership!
