Ambassador Judy Reinke opened the renovated Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Hospital in Podgorica on November 15, 2019.
As part of a joint project with the Montenegrin Government, the United States made contributions valued at over $275,000 dollars to upgrades to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
This project is one of four health-related efforts the U.S. Embassy is currently undertaking as part of its Humanitarian Assistance Program, which is funded through the U.S. Department of Defense.
Since 2009, the Humanitarian Assistance Program has allocated over 13 million dollars to fund 51 projects, predominantly to finance the construction or renovation of schools, childcare centers, and health centers, throughout Montenegro.
