Ambassador Judy Reinke spoke at the opening of a regional forum on cooperation in criminal matters, hosted by the Montenegrin Ministry of Justice, on December 16-17 in Budva,
The forum is an opportunity for judges, prosecutors and representatives of the justice ministries from Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss the implementation of bilateral agreements in the criminal justice area, with support from their colleagues from EUROJUST, the ICRMT (International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals/Hague Tribunal) and the International Criminal Court.
Since 2010, the U.S. Embassy has allocated over $17 million dollars for programs to help increase institutional capacity to tackle corruption and strengthen capabilities to fight organized crime.
