Ambassador Reinke participated in the Fund for Active Citizenship (faKT)’s Civil Society Forum on October 24, 2019, the culmination of the Embassy’s and fAKT’s cooperative project which increased the capacity of civil society organizations.
The projects prepared by faKT’s micro grants have been able to affect change in the fields of youth outreach and empowerment, social entrepreneurship, empowerment of disadvantaged and marginalized communities, countering violent extremism, and the environment and sustainable development.
In her remarks, the Ambassador underscored the crucial role civil society plays in making sure governments are held accountable to the people they govern.
