U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro Judy Reinke visited the newly renovated facilities of the “18. oktobar” school in Bioce on November 7, 2019. The U.S. European Command (EUCOM) Humanitarian Assistance Program, through the U.S. Embassy and its Office of Defense Cooperation, allocated $109,000 U.S. dollars for this renovation.

The project supported major structural renovations for the school, including new kindergarten facilities and a new floor in the school’s multipurpose room.
The U.S. Embassy partners with municipalities across the country to identify projects which directly benefit Montenegrins. Since 2009, the Humanitarian Assistance Program has allocated $13,178,371 to fund 51 projects in Montenegro, predominantly to finance the construction or renovation of schools, childcare centers, and health centers.
