On March 4, Ambassador Uyehara gave remarks at the AmCham Event “Openly with the Prime Minister”. Ambassador Uyehara said that the Embassy places a strong emphasis on strengthening the commercial partnership between United States and Montenegro. She also underlined the importance of lowering barriers to enable entrepreneurs to do business and added that communication and collaboration between the private sector and government decision makers is critical. Consistent and transparent application of law is needed to create the business certainty that investors crave, Ambassador Uyehara concluded.
At the event, AmCham Montenegro presented the results of their 2014 Business Climate Report, which identifies key areas in which to improve the business environment in Montenegro. The Report highlights areas where AmCham members have witnessed improvements in the business environment, as well as provides recommendations on how to improve the overall business climate in Montenegro. Prime Minister Djukanovic was the main guest on the panel discussion, and the event offered an opportunity for more than 100 representatives of business sector, diplomatic community and municipality authorities to exchange their views on the further development of the business climate in Montenegro.
