Ambassador Uyehara Opened “Vladimir Nazor” School Renovated Facilities

U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro Margaret Ann Uyehara and the Secretary of the Ministry of Education Slobodan Filipovic officially opened the renovated facilities of the “Vladimir Nazor” elementary school in Podgorica. The U.S. European Command (EUCOM) humanitarian assistance program, through the U.S. Embassy and its Office of Defense Cooperation, has provided 184,459 euros for this project. The project replaced the roof of the locker rooms and renovated the the locker rooms and restrooms of the school.

“After touring this facility, it is obvious that the students now have access to essential services which are vital in establishing a healthy and safe learning environment for the children,” said Ambassador Uyehara. She added that the strong bilateral partnership between Montenegro and the United States, and the numerous U.S. assistance programs and organizations, make projects like this one a reality and improve the lives of all.
