The U.S. Embassy Podgorica and the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, in cooperation with the Judicial Training Center, hosted a two-day Regional Conference on Cybercrime on November 18-19. U.S. Ambassador Margaret Ann Uyehara, OSCE Deputy Head of Mission Dan Redford, Deputy Police Director Milovan Pavicevic, and the Head of the Strategic Police Matters Unit in the Transnational Threats Department at the OSCE Secretariat in Vienna, Guy Vinet, spoke at the opening of the conference in Przno, Budva on November 18.
The aim of the conference was to discuss new trends in cybercrime, social networks risks, cyber-terrorism and cyber-incitement, as well as organized crime and money laundering through cyber space. This regional conference brought together cybercrime investigators, judges and prosecutors from Albania, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia, with the aim of improving their capacities and bolstering cooperation.
