Ambassador Margaret Ann Uyehara gave remarks at the press conference announcing the eighth annual Regional Euro-Atlantic (REACT) Camp, which will be organized by NGO Alpha Center and held August 28-September 2 in Vučje, Nikšić. Alpha Center plans to gather about 100 students, NGO representatives, media and government officials from more than 20 countries at this year’s REACT Camp, the majority of whom will be from Montenegro, given the importance of 2015 for Montenegro’s aspirations to join NATO.
Ambassador Uyehara said at the opening: “I am so proud that the U.S. Embassy has been a part of the REACT Camp for so many years, especially in this vitally important year. These next few months will be critical for Montenegro to make its case to the Allies and to its own citizens. The U.S. and other Allies are committed to helping this cause.”
The overall aim of the project is to educate young people about NATO and open up a dialogue among youth on this important topic. Young people interested in applying should visit http://www.reactmontenegro.me/ for more information.
