Basic PR training for representatives of State Prosecution and Courts

The United States Embassy in Podgorica, in cooperation with the Centre for Training of the Judiciary and the Prosecution of Montenegro and the OSCE Mission to Montenegro has organized a third iteration of the Basic PR training for representatives of State Prosecution and Courts on 24-25 October in Budva, Montenegro.

Resident Legal Advisor Erik Larson, and President of the Executive Board of the Centre for Training of the Judiciary and the Prosecution Senka Danilovic opened the training. In his opening remarks, RLA Larson expressed the importance of transparency in the work of the prosecution and judiciary.

During his lecture, Head of Public Affairs Section in the Embassy Mr. Mark Weinberg talked about the importance of the role of a PR team in the process of building institutional credibility and introducing the public with new instruments of the law, as well as inclusion of the PR team in the planning process for communication of activities, long term and short term communication strategies and the prevention and dealing with the crisis.

Both Mr. Larson and Mr. Weinberg stressed the readiness of the US Embassy in Podgorica to support further rule of law reforms.
