
The U.S. Embassy in Podgorica, in cooperation with the Center for Training in the Judiciary and State Prosecution (CTJP), organized in Kolasin a two-day conference on combating cross-border crime between Montenegro and Serbia. B. Bix Aliu, the U.S. Embassy Podgorica Charge d’Affaires, spoke at the opening of the conference on June 15, along with Rifat Hadrovic, the Bijelo Polje High State Prosecutor, Maja Maras, the head of the Montenegrin Ministry of Justice Directorate for International Cooperation and European Integrations, and Maja Milosevic, the Director of the Secretariat of the CTJP.
The goal of the conference was to discuss ways to improve cooperation between Montenegro and Serbia in combating all forms of cross-border crime, including transnational organized crime. Participants had the opportunity to also talk about international cooperation in the fight against foreign fighters. The conference brought together judges, prosecutors and police officers from both Montenegro and Serbia.
