The U.S. Embassy in Podgorica, in cooperation with the Center for Training in Judiciary and State Prosecution, organized the Conference on Court Manager in Kolasin, February 27-28, 2017.
The Conference was opened by H.E. Ambassador Uyehara and the President of Supreme Court of Montenegro Vesna Medenica.
In her opening remarks, the Ambassador Uyehara noted that the judiciary represents a key pillar of society which guards the rights and freedoms of all citizens. Courts must serve as a safe “port” for every citizen when it comes to protection of their rights, and as a final destination which guarantees justice. This goal can be reached only by having an efficient and transparent judiciary.
The U.S. Embassy is delighted to support such trainings, but will also continue to provide targeted donations to improve the transparency and efficiency of Montenegro’s courts. These actions are reflections of our continuing support to the rule of law in Montenegro.
