The U.S. Embassy recently donated two specialty patrol boats to the National Police Directorate. The Diamondback air boats are commonly used by police and border agencies in the United States to patrol marshes, swamps, and tidal areas. The Embassy’s International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP), coordinated the donation.
ICITAP is supported by the Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). INL funds training and equipment to build the capacity of the National Police Directorate, Border Police, and other Montenegrin agencies to combat transnational organized crime.
