U.S. Embassy Charge d’ Affairs Chris Karber, together with the English Language Teachers’ Association of Montenegro (ELTAM) president, Dragana Radoman, and Mayor of Pljevlja Rajko Kovačević officially launched the English Access Program in Pljevlja on April 18, 2022. This is the sixth Access Program in Montenegro, and builds on the success of the previous programs in Nikšić, Podgorica, Rožaje, and the ongoing program in Cetinje.
The English Access Program is a two-year, intensive, afterschool English-language learning program for talented students, sponsored by the Department of State. The Montenegro implementing partner is the English Language Teachers’ Association of Montenegro (ELTAM).
Seventeen students, ages 15 -17, from two high schools in Pljevlja, were selected through a rigorous selection process. Over the next two years, they will work on improving their English language abilities while learning more about U.S. culture, democratic values, and the skills needed to succeed in an increasingly connected world.
