Embassy Podgorica Continues to Support Rule of Law Reforms in Montenegro

The US Embassy in Podgorica in cooperation with the Center for Training in the Judiciary and State Prosecution started a two day Training on “Integrated Investigations and Innovative Trends in Corruption and Organized Crime Cases” on March 28, 2016.

Speaking at the opening of the event, Ambassador Uyehara emphasized the importance of integrated investigations, which besides the prosecution, also involve tax authorities, customs authorities, the new Agency for prevention of corruption, and all other relevant actors.

Participants, prosecutors, police and representatives of different state agencies, will ‎receive training in integrated prosecutions, use of multi-agency task forces, the role of basic prosecutors in fighting organized crime and corruption, and interview and interrogations techniques.

Speakers at the training are experts from the US Embassy in Podgorica, US Department of Homeland Security, as well as locals from Basic Prosecutors Offices and the Office of the Montenegrin Special Prosecutor.
