Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) Program in U.S. Embassy Podgorica delivered a course for Montenegrin Border Police on Identification and prevention of illegal transit of explosive materials, explosive devices and materials used for their production at the Police Academy in Danilovgrad. The one week course was delivered by two Polish Border Guard subject matter instructors. The Explosive Identification course is designed to enhance the capability of the Border Police to prevent illegal transit of explosive materials, focused on EU standards and best practices. The intensive course will be followed by a second week of specialized training at the Polish Border Academy in Ketrzyn, Poland during November 23 – 30, 2015.
The EXBS program is part of a broader effort to assist Montenegro to be actively engaged in regional and global challenges. The United States, through the EXBS program has provided over $4 million in training and equipment to help Montenegro strengthen its border security, export controls and non-proliferation efforts.
