Humanitarian Assistance Program Equips PCR Lab in Berane

Ambassador Reinke visited Berane on December 10, 2021 to announce the donation of PCR lab equipment valued at $174,000 to the health center through the U.S. European Command’s Humanitarian Assistance Program, which will greatly speed-up test processing time for residents of northern Montenegro.  The Embassy is pleased to have partnered with the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization, the German Embassy, and the Robert Koch Institute on this initiative.

This latest donation brings COVID assistance provided to Montenegro through the United States European Command’s Humanitarian Assistance Program to $778,000 worth of equipment, which has been distributed to hospitals throughout the country.

These donations are just a part of U.S. support to Montenegro during COVID, which also includes the recently announced $2.7 million in United States Agency for International Development assistance, provided through the American Rescue Plan Act.
