Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons at the U.S. Department of State, Randy Berry, is visiting Montenegro November 4-5, 2015. Mr. Berry will meet Deputy Prime Minister Dusko Markovic, Deputy Minister for Human and Minority Rights Blanka Radosevic-Marovic, Prime Minister’s Advisor for LGBTIQ Issues Jovan Kojicic, Ombudsman Sucko Bakovic, as well as civil society representatives to discuss issues related to the rights of LGBTI persons.
Special Envoy Berry will also hold a presentation on the protection of human rights with a special focus on the rights of LGBTI persons at the American Corner in Podgorica. Media interested in covering Mr. Berry’s presentation should be at Podgorica’s American Corner, at the Cultural and Informative Center (KIC) Budo Tomovic at 18:00 on Thursday, November 5.
Prior to Montenegro, on his European tour, Mr. Berry visited Greece, Albania and Kosovo. Following Montenegro he will travel to Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy and Israel. He assumed the position of the U.S. State Department’s first-ever Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons on April 13, 2015.
