On October 14, 2022, Access Program Cetinje held a graduation ceremony for the 20 students who successfully completed the two-year micro-scholarship program. The 2020-2022 program, which began in March 2020, is the fifth Access Program conducted in Montenegro, in cooperation with the English Language Teachers Association in Montenegro (ELTAM). Throughout the program, students undertook more than 360 hours of interactive English language learning activities, including one summer camp, with the goal of improving their skills in communication, leadership, and English. The students also increased their understanding of U.S. culture, policies, and democratic values – a core component of the Access Program.
With the teachers’ and students’ dedication, as well as engagement from officers throughout the Embassy and support from the Regional English Language Officer (RELO) in Belgrade, the program was implemented online from March 2020 until September 2021. From September 2021, classes were held in-person.
Representatives from the Ministry of Education and the local community attended the graduation ceremony and Ambassador Judy Rising Reinke, together with the teachers, presented the graduates with certificates.
