U.S. Coast Guard Visits Montenegro

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) conducted from June 21 to June 24 visits to three ports (Bar, Adria and Kotor) to analyze security procedures and vulnerabilities and to recommend policy and procedure adjustments to ensure compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility (ISPS) Code.  Since 2015, the USCG has trained and provided capacity building workshops to Montenegrin officials from the Navy, Customs Administration, Port Authorities of Kotor and Bar, and ministries responsible for port security management.

Ambassador Reinke joined today the USCG team for a briefing on their findings with Minister for Capital Investments, Mladen Bojanic.  Ambassador Reinke emphasized that the United States Government attaches great importance to the USCG findings aimed at improving the port and maritime security as the United States and Montenegro, as NATO allies, partners, and friends share the same goal.
