U.S. Embassy Celebrates International Education Week

The U.S. Embassy in Podgorica will mark International Education Week (IEW) with a series of events held in cooperation with the EducationUSA Center in Podgorica November 18-22, 2019.

During the course of International Education Week 2019, the EducationUSA Center in Podgorica will host a series of presentations on higher education in the United States.  The agenda will include conversations with U.S. experts and U.S. State Department exchange program alumni; panel discussions with U.S. speakers on entrepreneurship and study in the United States; scholarship presentations, including the current open calls for the Global UGRAD scholarship and Professional Fellows Program; workshops on how to write U.S. university applications; test prep sessions; school visits and more. On November 19, the American Corner in Podgorica will welcome the next generation of EducationUSA Competitive College Club (CCC) members. CCC is an intensive group advising program that assists top high school students apply to U.S. universities.  The U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Officer, Nicole Gallagher, will welcome the students and highlight the benefits of U.S. higher education.

To mark IEW, the U.S. Department of State issues its annual Open Doors report, which shows trends in student mobility between the United States and other countries.  The newly issued report indicates that during the 2018/2019 academic year, 112 Montenegrin students studied in the United States, while in 2017/2018 academic year, 21 U.S. students came to Montenegro through some sort of university exchange program.
