The United States Embassy to Montenegro donated 150 kilos of food for families in need to the NGO Food Bank on December 3 at American Corner Podgorica. The food was donated by guests who attended a Thanksgiving dinner on November 26 at Ambassador Margaret Ann Uyehara’s residence. The guests represented all sectors of society including the government, military and civil society. The guests were asked to donate items for families in need on the occasion of the U.S. holiday.
Volunteers from the U.S. Embassy, American Corner Podgorica, Food Bank and the Volunteer Circle of High School “Slobodan Skerovic “ helped pack the food donations which is given to eight families identified by Food Bank. The Embassy’s goal is to promote charity work and volunteerism in Montenegro by this action.
Deputy Chief of Mission B. Bix Aliu was present at the occasion and thanked the food donors and volunteers for their contribution.
