The U.S. Embassy, through its International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP), is providing online training on digital evidence collection and analysis for the National Police Directorate’s High-Technology Crime Unit and Forensic Center.. The training consists of forty hours of online training, combined with reading and practical assignments.
The training will advance individual operators’ proficiency on technical equipment used by the police directorate and can also lead to a professional certification of competency. The certification process increases the reliability of digital evidence acquired by the police for use in judicial proceedings.
Since 2010, the U.S. Embassy has allocated over $17 million dollars for programs to help increase institutional capacity to tackle corruption and strengthen capacities to fight transnational organized crime.
Representatives from the U.S. Embassy’s ICITAP Program attend online training with members of the National Police Directorate.
