On April 25-26, 2016, the United States Embassy in Podgorica, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), in cooperation with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Montenegro and the Center for Training in Judiciary and Prosecution (CTJP), organized a Basic Training for Public Relations Officers from all the prosecution offices in Montenegro and the Agency for Prevention of Corruption.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about general principles of work in the PR area from the experienced PR specialists and practitioners from Montenegro. They were also able to apply these skills through intensive and interactive practical exercises, and discussed actual media and public relations issues facing their offices.

This training is a part of the series of trainings that INL organized together with OSCE and CTJP which were targeted at improving PR capacities of the Prosecution and Agency for Prevention of Corruption. INL will continue to provide assistance in this area in the next year with the goal of continuing to improve transparency and image of these rule of law institutions, with a follow-up basic training held in May and an advanced training held in June.
