U.S. Embassy Supports 2019 REACT Camp

Public Affairs Officer Nicole Gallagher lead a discussion at the 2019 Regional Euro Atlantic Camp about U.S. policy towards the Western Balkans on September 6 in Žabljak.

The Embassy is proud to be a supporter of this camp, which gathers over 70 students from over a dozen European countries, the majority of whom are from the Balkans. The group spent a week in Žabljak, Montenegro, to discuss civic engagement, regional cooperation, stability and reforms supporting Euro-Atlantic integration. Through a variety of different presentations by NGO representatives, media, and government officials, the participants have an opportunity to exchange their opinions and discuss the role of youth as agents for change.

This year’s camp is also an opportunity to remember the late Aleksandar Šime Dedović, NGO Alfa Center and the REACT camp founder. The camp continues to honor his legacy of support for dialogue, especially among youth, about the role of NATO.
