U.S. Senators Visit Montenegro

Following the historic visit of Vice President Mike Pence earlier this month, six U.S. Senators traveled to Montenegro August 11-13 to support U.S.-Montenegrin relations.

Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO) was leading the delegation.  Accompanying Senator Blunt are Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS), Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), and Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC). The delegation met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Srđan Darmanović, Minister of Defense Predrag Bošković, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Zoran Pažin.

Senator Roy Blunt, from Southwest Missouri, serves as the Vice Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference. He also sits on the Senate Appropriations Committee; the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee; the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence; and the Senate Rules Committee. He is the Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies and Chairman of the Commerce Subcommittee on Aviation Operations, Safety, and Security.  Senator Blunt was elected to the United States Senate in 2010.  https://www.blunt.senate.gov/public/

Senator John Cornyn was first elected to the United States Senate in 2002.  Representing Texas, he serves on the Senate Finance, Intelligence, and Judiciary Committees, and he also serves as the Majority Whip.  https://www.cornyn.senate.gov/

Senator Thad Cochran was elected United States Congressman for the Fourth District of Mississippi in 1972 and later elected to the United States Senate in 1978. He has since been re-elected six times and is currently serving his seventh term in office. He is Chairman of the Appropriations Committee. https://www.cochran.senate.gov/public/

Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee, the Intelligence Committee, and the Banking Committee.  Senator Cotton served nearly five years on active duty in the United States Army as an Infantry Officer, including in Iraq and in Afghanistan.  https://www.cotton.senate.gov/

Senator Susan Collins is the senior United States Senator from Maine.  She has ranked as the most bipartisan member of the U.S. Senate for the past four consecutive years by the Lugar Center and Georgetown University.
