The Ambassador of the United States to Montenegro, H.E. Margaret Ann Uyehara visited the High Court in Podgorica to mark the donation of technical equipment for the courtroom that will enable audio-video coverage of trials, video-conferencing of remote witnesses, and audio and video scrambling of protected witnesses. The President of the Supreme Court thanked the Government of the United States, H.E. Uyehara, and the entire administration of the US Embassy for their efforts that have helped make the Montenegrin judiciary better, more efficient and transparent, stressing out that now there are three courtrooms in Montenegro, that are equipped with the support of the INL Justice program.
H.E. Uyehara noted that such IT support significantly contributes to improvement of the efficiency and transparency of court proceedings. This “smart” courtroom is only one of numerous examples of support to Montenegro, and added that the close cooperation with the Montenegrin Judiciary will continue in the future.
