Update: Embassy Consular Section Operations

Beginning September 16, 2020, in addition to C1/D crew visas, U.S. Embassy Podgorica will resume limited visa appointments for F, M, and J visa applicants. We welcome student applicants to study in the United States. The Embassy has limited staffing at this time, and we ask applicants to notify us at podgoricavisas@state.gov if your planned travel date is within the next three weeks.  Only students who have a valid I-20 form (Certificate of Eligibility) issued by their university may qualify for an F or M student visa. Students and the schools that admit them should follow SEVP guidance. For questions about compliance with SEVP guidance and SEVIS, we refer you to ICE. Their website is: https://www.ice.gov/coronavirus.  No other appointments for routine visa services are being scheduled at this time, including B1/B2 business and tourist visas. We will resume visa services as soon as possible, but are unable to provide a specific date at this time. Please follow https://me.usembassy.gov/visas/ for updates.

Please also note that on June 22, President Donald Trump extended Proclamation 10014 from April 22, suspending the entry of certain additional foreign nationals to the United States through December 31, 2020. Under the Proclamation, the Department of State will not issue certain categories of nonimmigrant visas, including H-1B, H-2B, L visas, and their family members. Certain J1 visas will also not be issued, including intern, trainee, teacher, camp counselor, au pair, or summer work travel program. This proclamation does not apply to persons who already hold a U.S. visa issued prior to June 24, 2020.
