Appointment

Requests for emergency travel are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested in requested an emergency appointment you should contact us at PodgoricaVisas@state.gov.

Cases that qualify for emergency appointments include urgent business travel, student/exchange visas with an imminent start date, or a sudden and unpredicted need for travel. There must be an obvious and valid reason that you were not able to plan ahead for their trip.

In the case that you are travelling to visit a family member who has a serious illness or injury, you must have a U.S. physician email PodgoricaVisas@state.gov with an up-to-date scanned statement indicating the condition of the patient. The statement must include contact information of the physician so that the Consular Officer can follow up if necessary.

In the case that you are travelling to a funeral, a death certificate or other documentation of the family member’s death must be scanned and sent in an email to PodgoricaVisas@state.gov.

In the case that you have a medical emergency, you must email PodgoricaVisas@state.gov with a letter from a Montenegrin doctor explaining the urgency of travel and why treatment in the U.S. is required. A letter from a U.S. doctor or hospital is also required, confirming your appointment and the urgency of your trip
